No Better Time to Upgrade Existing Lighting Systems

The Common Lamp’s Failure

The common incandescent lamp, fluorescent lamp, energy-saving lamp, and
other gas-discharge lamps are all equipped with an electrode (filament) which
is what causes these lamps to fail prematurely. The induction lamps are not
equipped with an electrode instead they emit light by the combination of the
principles of both electromagnet induction and fluorescence discharge, thus there
is no component (filament) that limits the service life. The service life depends
on the quality of the electronic components. The general service life could
reach 100,000 hours compared to 20,000 for typical HID lamps.

Up to 60-65% Energy Savings

In comparison to traditional HID luminaires induction lamps provide energy
savings up to 60-65%. Savings occur in part because lumen depreciation is
dramatically reduced with induction lamps (max 30% depreciation from 60,000-
100,000 hours) compared to HID lamps (40% depreciation at 8,000 hours). This
allows for much lower wattage lamp to be installed since HID lamps need to be
installed with much higher initial lumens than are needed to offset the fast lumen
depreciation that is inevitable with HID lamps.

Induction Lamps Last up to 4 x’s Longer

Since induction lamps have up to a 100,000 hour rated service
life, they can be expected to last four to five times longer than HID
lamps assuming typical usage. This results in dramatically reduced
re-lamping and labor costs that are associated with HID lamps. In
addition, induction lamps use 1/3 the amount of mercury as HID lamps and it is
in the form of solid mercury amalgam so they don’t have an adverse impact on
the environment even if broken. It also has a 99% coefficient of recovery which
provides true environmental protection and is the definition of a green light
source.
